This large UK organisation has a need for an experienced Assistant Accountant to provide ongoing temping cover for at least 6 months.
The role is Darlington based with hybrid working.
Your new role
Working as part of the Supply Chain Operations finance team in preparing weekly, monthly and year end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring the integrity of the financial records.
Scope: Responsible for multiple cost centres across 5 UK Supply Chain Operations sites.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
Support the preparation of weekly ‘flash’ forecasts of key P&L areas (internal sales, production output, materials, direct labour & staff costs, transport etc.) to support managers in taking timely action to address financial performance shortfalls.
Posting of required monthly journals in multiple accounting systems (IFS, SAP, ORACLE, SAGE) to produce timely & relevant monthly accounts for UK business units including all P&L lines, accruals, prepayments etc for Supply Chain Operations costs.
Supporting the Supply Chain Operations Finance team in monthly production and logistics flash meetings to ensure decision making has appropriate finance input and that the financial impacts of projects and operational changes are reflected in business financial forecasts on a timely basis.
Supply Chain Operations finance admins tasks including:
Setting up vendors in SAP
Preparation of purchase orders
Preparation of sundry invoices for staff sales etc.
Ad-hoc administration
What you’ll need to succeed
A proven track record of working at this level, you will be immediately available or have a couple of weeks notice period.

Advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of SAP advantageous
Demonstrate role flexibility as may be asked to carry out various duties in the department
Qualifications
AAT Qualified / CIMA Part Qualified
