An exciting opportunity has arise for an assistant management accountant to join one of UK leading childcare private provider. On a growth trajectory the business has over 60 nurseries in the North West, Yorkshire and the South West.
Over the years the business has invested significantly in the quality of care, the optimisation of the learning experience and early year’s curriculum delivery.
Reporting to the management accountant you will be supporting nursery managers/budget holders across the organisation in the preparation of monthly accounts including maintaining the sub-ledgers.
Supporting the Management Accountant in the preparation of monthly management accounts. To include the analysis of variances, identification of errors and preparation of correcting journal entries
Prepare and distribute regular internal budget reports for all departmental budget holders
support the Management Accountant in the preparation for budget meetings by producing detailed cost analysis of specified expense codes and collating and verifying staffing information
Preparation of petty cash/bank reconciliations for group and individual nursery sites and resolving any subsequent queries
Reviewing debtors/creditors ledger ensuring accuracy and dealing with any anomalies and maintenance of accruals and prepayments model
Assist with the processing of purchase invoices when necessary
Assist the Management Accountant in the completion of external returns by collating and analysing data and producing reports in line with appropriate deadlines for regulatory and other bodies
Previous management account experience
Graduate/AAT qualified studying towards CIMA (or equivalent) qualification
Experience of performing detailed financial reconciliations
Proficiency in MS Excel
Driven and ambitious
Ability to work with minimal supervision
On site parking available
