Serco are recruiting for a Business Manager to join their current team based at the International Fire Training Centre in Darlington.
The key purpose of our Business Manager is to develop profitable income as well as targeted organic growth for IFTC by engaging with customers on pricing, course scheduling and product development. This role will work with stakeholder groups to promote the interests of IFTC whilst developing marketing materials and promoting the services through customer contact both directly and via online platforms. Our Business Manager will also track data for effective forecasting on income as well as price point management.
Reporting into the Aviation Contract Manager you will work closely with curriculum managers on scheduling and support on resourcing acting as the point of contact for local Operation Manager for support and guidance.
Manage customer contact through in-bound and out-bound activity (direct and indirect).
Prepare prices and tender responses to secure new work
Process sales pipeline data to provide weighted revenue forecasts
Track enquiries to maintain customer comms and planned campaigns
Host customer visits and prepare technical content with SQEP support for a bespoke pitch
Work with social media supplier on content (stories and videos)
Develop and grow income from IFTC’s online offering.
Design new, tailored courses in conjunction with our curriculum managers to meet customer needs
Design and develop new open course products to expand customer offerings
Schedule fire training courses in the delivery calendar, taking account of resources needed and those already engaged on the programme
Work with other members of the SMT on the delivery of the annual business plan.
Deputise for the Aviation Contract Manager as required for the general management of the business.
Identify and implement CI opportunities on the delivery programme.
What you’ll need to do the role:
Proven sales background with evidenced results.
Proven experience of developing and maintaining close customer relationships.
Experience of working with suppliers.
Experience of using website and social media to promote online presence.
