Protocol Education looking for a Cover Supervisor to work in local secondary schools across the Darlington area for a start ASAP.

Due to the increased requirement for the need of day-to-day cover within these mainstream school settings, we are needing Cover Supervisors to join our bank of staff to help cover school teachers who may be absent due to training courses, meetings or sickness.

This is a great opportunity to enhance your exposure to different schools, ages and abilities and is an excellent way to gain experience in teaching if you are thinking of embarking upon a teaching qualification.

Working on Supply give you a flexibility to pick and choose what days you want to work and gives you an incredibly varied week, you could be covering in one school all week, or you could get to experience five different schools in a week. You could be teaching the whole class with pre-prepared work or you could be supporting students on a small group or 121 basis.


Have experience teaching in Secondary education.
Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons
Supervising classes of 11-18 year old, using strategies to manage behaviour in line with school policy.
Delivering lessons from a range of subjects across the national curriculum set by a qualified teacher, with no planning or marking involved.
Engaging with the pupils and keeping them on task, assisting with queries where possible
Being highly organised and able to communicate effectively
Dealing with any immediate issues or emergencies according to the school policies and procedures.

Have experience of working with children, preferably 11-18 in some professional capacity?
Hold or be willing to complete an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS)?
Possess the motivation to achieve and add value to the school?
Be enthusiastic, flexible, punctual, professional, reliable and approachable?
Be able to establish rapport quickly with children whilst maintaining a high standard of control and discipline?

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
