Your role with usn As a Field Monitoring Technical Officer (fish lead), you will play a key role in delivering crucialn environmental monitoring programmes. In particular, you will lead on our fish monitoring programme andn support our field team with technical and operational advice.n You will also lead on fish surveys, carried out in rivers, lakes and coastal waters. These will use variousn techniques, such as electric fishing and netting.

After these surveys, you will enter, maintain and qualityn assure fish data on our IT systems.n The role requires a good deal of communication, as you will train and mentor our monitoring field teams andn work closely with national and area-specific teams to plan and schedule our fish programmes.n While the role is challenging and busy, you can be sure your efforts are making a real contribution towardsn protecting people and the environment.n What do I need?n You should have leadership abilities along with experience in fish monitoring, environmental monitoringn field work and biosecurity procedures. Being able to carry out risk assessments is also important, as isn being able to train others.
