Serco are currently recruiting for a Fire Training Instructor to join our team at the International Fire Training Centre. The main purpose of this appointment is to enable others to learn firefighting and fire fighter leadership techniques through presentations, demonstration and instruction. Additionally, the post holder will be required to assess the performance of candidates using a range of methods. Included in this role is a requirement to take responsibility for the management of students and design, development, evaluation, and improvement of course materials in accordance with client requests, professional and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities of the role
Carry out any allocated tasks in accordance with QMS procedures or accepted best practice.
Manage the delivery of sector specific training programmes in accordance with QMS procedures Marine, Offshore, Industrial)
Manage non sector specific training programmes in accordance with QMS procedures Breathing Apparatus Instructor, Train the Trainer, First Aid)
Support the delivery of aviation training programmes in accordance with QMS procedures
Assess students’ performance against recognised standards using a range of methods
Take Responsibility for personal development to broaden the type and range of courses that can be delivered by the individual.
Design andSercoa develop training programmes in response to business and client needs
Provide students/sponsors with follow up reports and action plans in the agreed format
Maintain equipment in accordance with recognised procedures
What I need to do the role?
Supervisory Fire Service qualification
Minimum L3 teaching qualification
A1 (TAQA) assessing qualification or equivalent
Technical understanding of fire and rescue techniques
Offshore, Industrial and/or Marine fire fighting background
IT – MS Office
Strong communicator
Confident in groups
High literacy
Adaptable
