About The Role

The main purpose of the role is to support and manage the Infrastructure Team which provides the advanced technical knowledge to manage, support and develop in life enterprise scale technology services with primary objectives being usability, availability and performance. The candidate will report to the Technology Manager, sitting within the wider Technology Team.

Colleagues have reasonable expectation of performant “always on” services and the Infrastructure Lead will drive achievement via adoption of standards, frameworks, industry best practice and continuous service improvement initiatives and through timely investigation and resolution of problems.

As such, the Infrastructure Team Lead will require a broad range of technical skills covering on premise, cloud computing and storage technologies, virtualisation, voice and data networking, remote access and mobile.

About You

With extensive experience of designing, delivering, managing and supporting innovative technology solutions within compute, storage, network and security domains, you have a high degree of accountability, commitment and responsibility and have proven experience of definition and enforcement of technology standards.

Proficient in the provision of high-quality technology documentation, standards and test plans, you will have extensive technical knowledge of a wide range of technology, protocols, operating systems and standards and experience of incident and problem management within an ITIL framework.

You have creative problem solving skills, are able to build and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate ideas from multiple stakeholders, and can communicate concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
