We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Line Lead to join the friendly team at our snack manufacturing plant in Billingham (TS23). As Manufacturing Line Lead you will be responsible for people, plant, product, and process delivery against clearly defined role outputs, with specific responsibility for developing, managing, and leading a manufacturing team.

As Manufacturing Line Lead your key responsibilities will include:
- The day-to-day management of your team ensuring performance meets agreed targets and standards
- Taking the lead in the Daily Direction Setting with a loss focused approach to the plan of the day
- Daily Management System owner of key areas including Clean Inspection Lubrication, Incident Elimination, Defect Handling and daily weekly and monthly direction setting
- Ensuring high levels of quality, safety, and hygiene by maintaining procedures and statutory/company guidelines
- Leading and supporting a culture of engaged and motivated colleagues
- Coaching members of your team by conducting regular monitoring and appraisals to ensure skills and competency levels are developed to deliver the highest levels of customer satisfaction
- Effectively manage and deliver planning of resources to achieve and exceed KPI’s (cost, quality, service)
- Achieving production and conformance to plan targets and maintaining control of stock and waste
- Accepting responsibility and taking ownership of problems, seeing change as an opportunity
- Ensuring compliance with Quality processes delivering Right First Time Production
- Liaising with internal / external customers, colleagues and other third parties to deliver and exceed customer expectations
- Demonstrating a duty of care to all employees whilst adopting the Positive Attendance Management protocols
- Where necessary, conduct disciplinary and grievance meetings ensuring adherence to company disciplinary and grievance policies
Working hours
The working hours for the role are Monday to Friday 7.30am-4pm with 24/7 responsibility for the area. Also, the flexibility for shift working patterns and extended cover shifts

The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing setting
- The ability to lead and coach a team to deliver a safety-first customer focused culture
- Proven track record in delivering against production and manufacturing KPIs/SLAs
- The ability to lead and manage a team working across shifts over 24 hours
- Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem-solving skills
- High level of personal responsibility and accountability for results
- The ability to respond positively to changing demands with a can-do approach
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and six sigma (desirable)
