An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Occupational Therapist – Band 6 to work in an exceptional residential service based in the Darlington, County Durham area. You will be working for one of UK’s leading health care providers
This is a specialist residential service with nursing, supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs
**To be considered for this position you must be qualified as an Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC**
As the Occupational Therapist you key responsibilities include:
- You will have an Activity coordinator and an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- You will work with a full multidisciplinary team in a coordinated way to support each service user develop their skills and move through our clinical model of care from admission to discharge
- You would also hold leadership and management responsibilities of the Occupational Therapy service of your allocated ward, providing clinical supervision for activity co-ordinators and you could be allocated line management of an Occupational Therapy Assistant and/or a newly qualified Occupational Therapist
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
- Knowledge of the area of specialism; clinical skills in assessment and intervention
- Microsoft Office tools and good working knowledge of information technology
- Advanced knowledge and critical understanding of Occupational therapy and occupational science
- Advanced knowledge and critical understanding of Adult and social learning theories
The successful Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent salary of £35,000 – £39,000 per annum. This exciting position is a Full Time role working 40 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
