Your new company This is an excellent opportunity to join a large Government department and join a global network of highly dedicated staff bringing together policy, promotion, and financial expertise. You’ll be joining as a Regional / Office Support Manager on an 18-month fixed term contract the organisation’s Darlington office with hybrid working options available. (2/3 days per week from home). Your new role As a Regional / Office Support Manager you will be accountable for the following areas: Managing on-site operational priorities at a selection of office locations, e.g., maintaining and sharing location-specific communications and guidance, filling key office management responsibilities, assisting in the coordination of VIP visits or local events, and supporting local leadership to oversee the correct use of on-site facilities. You’ll act as a visible representative for corporate services at a selection of locations. This will include actively engaging staff to understand their support priorities and working with corporate service teams to develop sustainable solutions. In addition, you’ll work closely with local site leadership and key partners across Government, including the Government Property Agency and other Government departments with which this department shares office space. You will initially focus your support on this organisation’s major site in Darlington, before ensuring other sites receive the same consistent, high-quality corporate service offer. You will work closely across a full range of corporate functions to deliver this aim, including with a dedicated cross-functional Task and Finish Group. Alongside this, you will work closely with other Regional Support Manager roles (in recruitment) to share priorities and lessons learnt. You’ll additionally contribute to corporate services reporting mechanisms, providing regular updates on operational achievements, challenges, and priorities. What you’ll need to succeed Essential Criteria: Experience of delivering corporate support functions. Ability to systematically identify and analyse challenges and work with stakeholders to find resolutions. Ability to take a collaborative and supportive approach to your work and when dealing with teams across the department. Comfortable working at pace and inclusively with teams and at all levels across the firm. Experience of working collaboratively and in a matrix environment to identify and resolve complex issues. Be able to work independently and confident working in ambiguous, complex, and uncertain environments. Show strong engagement, facilitation and communication skills and feel comfortable in questioning and challenging when needed. Strong briefing and presentation skills with the ability to brief upwards to senior levels when required. Ability to use technology confidently, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Project Ability to travel to various sites across the UK.Desirable Criteria: Prior experience of delivering corporate support at new established offices, and/or improving processes in established offices. Familiarity with project management tools and frameworks.
