Job Title : Train Cleaner – Night Shifts at Darlington Train Station
Location : Darlington Train Station – Durham
Contract Length : 6 Month Initial Contract with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
Interviews/Start Date : Immediate, subject to successfully passing our interview process, a Medical and Drug & Alcohol test.
We have two openings available to join one of UKs largest and busiest Train Operating Companies as part of their Train Presentation team, where you will undertake critical work to ensure the cleanliness of their trains, ensuring the health and safety of the travelling public. This is a fantastic first step into the rail industry, with its abundance of career opportunities ahead.
About the role :
As a train cleaner you will assist with cleaning inside the trains making sure to achieve key standards of cleanliness required within the industry. Tasks will include:
Interior deep cleaning
Bleaching and de-tanking of the toilets
CET tank disposal
Report minor faults to Team Leader
Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
This will be a physical role where you will be required to be on your feet for most of your shift.
The successful candidate :
We’re looking for someone with great work ethic, attention to detail, good communication and reliable. Whilst experience in train presentation is desired, we’re considering applications from other industries such as housekeeping, cleaning, aircraft cleaning, industrial cleaning, or similar experience.
You must be punctual, able and willing to work night shifts and be a hard-working individual with a great work record. The night shift pattern will be 4 on 4 off or 5 on 3 off, working from 20:00 – 06:00. You will be required to work Saturdays and Sundays on a roster basis with the possibility of overtime at managements discretion.
Rate of Pay
Every hour worked: £10.80 p/h
